Stephens County Schools is again sponsoring the “Seamless Summer” meals program at several sites in the community, offering sack lunches, free of charge, to children 18 and younger from June 11- July 31st. Sites are Stephens County High School concession stand on the football field from 10:30-11:00; at Highpoint Community Worship Center on Davis Avenue from 11:15-11:45 and at the Doyle Street Pool from 12:00 – 12:30. The program runs Monday through Thursday and is funded by the USDA School Nutrition Program.
These lunches will help provide a daily meal to children during the summer who are used to eating at school during the school year. There are no forms to fill out and no registration- all children and youth ages 18 and younger are welcome! The program is a partnership between the community and Stephens County School System. Volunteers will be reading to children at some of the lunch sites coordinated by Stephens County Partners for Success.
Parents and grandparents are encouraged to take advantage of this free meal, which can help to offset summer grocery bills.
If you are interested in volunteering at one of the sites to help serve meals, please call 706-886-9415. All children and teens are welcome and must stay onsite to eat.
