Please utilize the following descriptors when determining which form or forms you will need prior to participation in activities/workshops/courses and the proper documentation you will need to obtain Professional Learning Unit (PLU) credit.
Professional Learning Approval Forms
SCSPL-001 – This form is necessary for individuals to obtain PLU credit for activities, courses, etc. that are provided at the local school or system level. SCSPL-001 must be completed by local schools seeking to provide
internal professional development activities to staff.
This form is not required when an outside agency is providing the PLU credit (i.e. Pioneer RESA).
SCSPL-002 – This form serves as pre-approval for participation by individuals and groups in activities, courses, workshops, etc., as well as a request for funding for said activities
. Signatures from the funding coordinator, school’s professional development team leader, principal or supervisor, and system professional development coordinator are required before participation. (Note: If requesting PLU credit for this activity from Stephens County Schools, SCSPL-001 must have been approved, and SCSPL-003 and SCSPL-004 must be attached for each individual).
SCSPL-003 – This form provides specific information about the individual requesting PLU credit from Stephens County Schools and the method of obtaining that credit. If 001 and 002 have been approved, please turn in 003 to the Department of Teaching and Learning at the central office.
If an outside agency is providing PLU credit this form is not required.
SCSPL-004 – This form serves as an evaluation mechanism for the Department of Teaching and Learning, Stephens County Schools. Please provide a copy of 004 to the Department of Teaching and Learning at the conclusion of your course.
If an outside agency is providing PLU credit this form is not required.

These programs are offered fully online (no on-campus attendance required), making it convenient for teachers and other working professionals.
